These are the different modules I can offer as training. Each module typically takes a half day (3 hours) to complete, but this can be shortened or extended. The various modules can easily be combined to create a 1- or 2-day program.
Connect with your audience
Modules Relational Presence
Introduction to Relational Presence
Speaking in front of a group naturally brings a certain tension. Rather than trying to suppress or avoid this tension, as most trainings suggest, we embrace it and choose to connect with our audience. Through a series of exercises, this module provides the key to authentically connecting with a group of people. With an unexpectedly relaxed feeling, you’ll be able to say what needs to be said.
Relational Presence
For people who have followed the introduction to relational presence, there is the “speaking circle”. This is the model of inventor Lee Glickstein that has been used worldwide since the 1990s. With a maximum of 8 participants, we strengthen and deepen our ability to make a warm connection with an audience. A seemingly simple session that gives the participants the experience of sharing a message freely and authentically with any audience. Here you discover that there is a powerful speaker hidden within you.
Relational Presence with storytelling
In a typical relational presence session, there are no instructions on what to say, and that strengthens the confidence and power to speak authentically. In this session, we build on that power with simple storytelling techniques. In this way, we combine making an authentic connection with your audience and presenting a certain content.
The right content for the right audience
Modules Content of your presentation
The content of your presentation
Perfect content doesn’t exist in isolation. Your purpose, your message, a clear structure—all important! But if you don’t see it through the eyes of your audience, you could end up with the wrong presentation for the right audience (because the audience is always "right"). In this module, we’ll conduct an audience analysis and examine the why, the purpose, and the message to build an effective structure for the presentation.
Storytelling
Since at least the days of cavemen gathered around the campfire, humans have lived in and through stories. Anyone who hopes to captivate an audience by throwing an Excel table on the screen and reading from it still believes in fairy tales. However, casting your message and data in the form of stories is incredibly effective at captivating your audience and helping them feel the core of your message. In this module, we’ll explore the structure of a story and practice the art of storytelling.
Conversational Presenting
Turn your presentation into a conversation. Presentations are often straightforward, they follow a certain structure towards a certain goal. In that case, it still pays to present as if you are in a conversation with your audience. But you can also have a presentation with multiple paths and even outcomes. Especially in sales, you want the presentation to end with not what is important to you, but with what is important to the audience. With the right approach and structure, you can choose together for the appropriate ending and even a closed deal.
Pitching
From the legendary elevator pitch to a start-up pitch for investors. In this module we build on the content and storytelling methods to build different pitches. We work on different versions or scripts so that you can present your company or idea for all circumstances. In 1 word, in 60 seconds, in an unexpected way, in 10 minutes, etc.
A modern, clear and relevant slide?
Modules Visual support for your presentation
The PowerPoint tricks you wish you knew years ago
PowerPoint is constantly evolving. Since 2016, several important features have been added that most people don’t use at all today. In this module, I’ll highlight the most impactful features that save me hours of time and frustration when designing presentations for my clients. From simple shortcuts to full-blown principles, this is the module that every PowerPoint user doesn’t even know they’re missing.
This module is hands-on, everyone will participate on their laptop, and minimal PowerPoint experience is required
PowerPoint templates
PowerPoint templates serve two purposes. First of all, they keep everyone on-brand (fonts, colors, imaging, style, …) and they help to save time. In this module, we analyze your company’s template together and discuss the best practices for using it. If appropriate, we can, together with the participants, add missing template slides.
Visual Storytelling
When your story and data reveal themselves step by step on a slide, you get a speaker who is supported by strong visuals instead of slides from the 90s that also suck the attention and energy out of the room. In this hands-on module (everyone participates on the laptop) we build on the PowerPoint hack training. We give examples of visual storytelling in PowerPoint and work together on several examples to get a grip on visual thinking and design.
Transforming your slides
In this very practical and interactive module we start with existing slides: older slides or slides that have been specially prepared for this session. We work together to take the slides to the next level, based on your company template and the modules “Visual Storytelling” and “PowerPoint Hacks”.
A professional presentation with impact
Modules Giving your presentation
The power of your voice and body language
Your voice and body often speak louder than your words. In this module, you will learn how to consciously use intonation, rhythm and pauses to make your message more powerful. We will also work on body language: how to use movements, eye contact and posture to radiate confidence and authority. With practical exercises, you will receive direct feedback and learn how to strengthen your natural appearance.
Audience Interaction and Impact: Live & Online
A good presentation is not a one-way street – whether you are presenting live in front of a room or online. In this module, you will learn techniques to actively engage your audience, stimulate interaction and respond effectively to their reactions. How do you ensure connection and attention, even through a screen? How do you use voice and body language to make an impact? What do you do when your audience tunes out? We will explore both physical and digital methods of interaction, from eye contact and asking questions to polls and break-out rooms. Through exercises and improvisation, you will learn to respond confidently and flexibly to any situation.
Dealing with stress, unexpected situations and preparation
Even experienced speakers get nervous, but good preparation helps reduce insecurities. In this module, you will learn to transform tension into positive energy and how to stay calm during unexpected turns, such as difficult questions, technical problems or a distracted audience. We will cover both mental techniques and practical preparation: from room layout and microphones to online tools and backups. With realistic exercises, you will learn to respond flexibly to any situation and present with confidence.
Practice, feedback and fine-tuning
In this final module, you will bring everything together and give a short presentation to the group. You will receive direct, constructive feedback on the content and visual support, your body language and audience interaction. We will refine your style and approach, so that you can confidently stand in front of an audience the next time. This module is the opportunity to put all the techniques from the previous sessions into practice and take your presentation skills to the next level. For an experienced audience, this module can also be given without other modules.
